I had my third IPL treatment earlier today and about an hour after the procedure, I got a headache so I took advil not thinking that could mess with the IPL results. Was that bad? Does that hinder the IPL results? Help!

Answer: Advil and IPL Hello, It is not an issue to take Advil after IPL treatment. Some clinics may suggest stopping advil, aspirin and vitamin e 5 days prior to IPL to avoid increased redness, bruising and failure for capillaries to resolve. Answer: It is OK to take Advil. After IPL, it is OK to take Advil, generally because it is not an injectable procedure and there is no risk of blood thinning. It is mainly important to avoid non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (like Advil) before any treatments that make cause bruising such as Botox and Filler treatment. What you should avoid doing after an IPL treatment: - No sun exposure for several weeks - Skin exfoliants - Medicated creams such as Glycolic or Retinoic acids
