It’s difficult to tell without an in-person evaluation. This is hypopigmentation and inflammation after your laser procedure which is common. Skin care will help improve this as well as sun protection.  I suggest a formal consultation with an expert in lasers and peels. Best, Dr. Emer.

It looks like the treatment was uneven, meaning that there were areas missed in between the spots treated.  However, it is hard to tell from the picture if there is also hypopigmentation or if this is the normal pigment and redness reduction. Usually for pigment and redness reduction with IPL, several treatments are done to get the best results. It is possible that with another treatment or two you will have even looking results. If you feel it is truly hypopigmentation, you may want to consider a consultation with another provider to fully assess and give recommendations.

It looks like you were tan and the setting wasn't adjusted, It shouldn't be a problem, your pigmentation should come back in 6-8 weeks. Normally, we ask our patients not to be in the sun while doing hair removal, to avoid this situation.
