Im assuming from your questions that you have already had buttock implants and now desire a revision? The golden rule (for most any surgery) is to wait at least 6 months for all the swelling to reside and the tissues to soften before performing a revision. This is frequently the case when buttock implant patients either desire to go bigger or need the implants repositioned under the gluteus maximus muscle because they were, unfortunately, placed on top in the original surgery. Glad to help.
I usually ask a patient to wait 3 months or longer before consideration of replacement.Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA
The answer would depend on the reason for revision. Is there a problem (e.g. seroma) or is it a desire for bigger/smaller size or pocket repositioning? The reason for revision can affect timing for buttock implants
