What is Tricare’s criteria for Panniculectomy and abdominoplasty? (Photo)

I am female 40 year old and I had bariatric surgery December 6, 2019 I am now 5’2 160 and I have loose hanging skin that keeps getting rashes underneath. I have trouble exercising because the extra skin gets in the way and it feels like my back is hurting all the time especially when I exercise. Will Tricare pay for a panniculectomy or even abdominalplasty for urinary incontinence?

it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Based on your photos, it looks like you would benefit from a tummy tuck. It is unlikely that insurance will cover the costs for tummy tuck. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

You can check with your insurance representative to see what they are now covering. Urinary incontinence is not treated with an abdominoplasty.

You will need to reach out to your insurance company yourself to find out what their policy is for this procedure.  Many insurance companies may pay for all or part of the procedure, however many plastic surgeons may not accept your insurance.
