Crown looks bad and crooked - can this be fixed? (photo)

Question

I had a root canal down and my tooth in front and they put the crown on and it’s like, gappy and I feel like it’s too crooked I really thought it would be straighter after having this done. I feel like it still looks just as bad as before. Gapped and slightly discolored. I absolutely hate it. Can this be fixed? Or how would it even be fixed?

Hello, yes, tooth could definitely be improved! We suggest oral evaluation and X-rays be taken first, usually when improving smile, we do a mock up to show patients how we can improve there smile. Crowns and veneers are an option!

The crowns should take up to 15 years, if they are well cared and good quality ones, this is about zirconium crowns. Caring for your crowns, means, avoiding using your teeth as a tool (opening bottles, jars, packaging), flossing, brushing...When they are crooked the only ways to fix it is replacing them, you can replace only one or whole set of crowns if makes you more comfortable.

Have you spoken to the dentist that did the treatment? You are correct in your assessment, and the dentist- in most cases would accept that the result is not acceptable. They should offer to either redo it at no cost, or refund you the crown cost- so you could see another provider
