Hi, I had a temporary crown put on after a root canal about 6 years ago, I understand ideally I would’ve had a permanent crown put in place by now but it just hasn’t been financially possible. I have had my annual cleanings between then and everything seems fine. However this week and next I am on vacation for the holidays and I have noticed a large black spot has suddenly developed. Should I be worried? I’m freaking out.

Answer: To know if the tooth is in good condition it would be necessary to do a clinical and radiographic analysis
Since the structure of the tooth is intact, I would be inclined to try veneers, as an anterior tooth requires high esthetics, so I would first recommend trying temporary veneers to agree on shape, size and color.
I am sorry you are having such difficulty. There are probably a combination of 2 reasons the veneer is not staying on.
1- it is very likely that the inside of the veneer as well as the tooth are not being treated properly to eliminate contaminants, and increase the bond strength of the cement...
Hello, yes you would need a new impression for a new crown, it is not possible to change a color on a crown that was already made, it would need to be redone, the shape can be adjusted but not changed fully. At Dental Del Rio we can make a crown in 2-3 days.
