I usually get forehead, crows feet & frown lines with disport I stopped prior to getting the hair transplant but am wanting to start again but worried if it could affect the grafts

It is completely understandable to want to get back to your regular cosmetic routine while simultaneously feeling protective over your new hair grafts, as those early weeks are absolutely critical for their survival. The great news is that you can safely resume your Dysport or Botox treatments for your forehead, frown lines, and crow's feet about 2 to 3 weeks following your hair transplant. By the 14-day mark, the newly transplanted hair follicles have firmly rooted into the scalp, the initial post-operative swelling has subsided, and any micro-incisions have completely closed, meaning the gentle pressure applied during neuromodulator injections will no longer pose a risk of dislodging or damaging the grafts. Furthermore, since your treatments focus on the mid-to-lower forehead and around the eyes, they are anatomically distant enough from a standard hairline or crown recipient site to avoid any negative interaction. Just be sure to mention your recent hair transplant to your injector so they can be extra mindful of your upper forehead boundary and avoid placing any direct pressure on your healing scalp during your session.

In most cases, you can safely resume Botox or Dysport after a hair transplant once the grafts are fully anchored and the scalp has healed. Graft stability is the key factor: newly transplanted follicles are vulnerable for the first several days, but by about 7–10 days they are generally secure, and by several weeks there is essentially no risk of dislodging them. At six weeks post-procedure, your grafts are well integrated into the scalp, so standard neurotoxin injections in the forehead, glabella (frown lines), and crow’s feet will not affect graft survival.

The areas typically treated with Dysport—frontalis, corrugators, and orbicularis oculi—are anatomically separate from most transplant recipient sites, even when the hairline is involved. When performed with proper technique (superficial placement, small needle, minimal pressure), injections do not disrupt the follicles or underlying healing tissue. There is also no evidence that botulinum toxin interferes with hair growth or graft take.

The main precaution is to avoid injecting directly into any areas that are still healing, inflamed, or tender. If you had any delayed healing, persistent redness, or sensitivity along the hairline, it may be reasonable to give it a bit more time or adjust injection placement slightly higher or lower.

From a practical standpoint, many patients resume their usual neuromodulator treatments around 2–4 weeks post-transplant without issue, so at your stage, restarting Dysport is considered safe. If anything, relaxing forehead movement can even reduce tension near the hairline, which may be beneficial during the later healing phase.

Botox after a hair transplant is generally considered safe once the grafts are securely anchored and the early healing phase has passed.In general, I recommend waiting a good 6-8 weeks postop before resuming forehead/glabellar/crow’s feet toxin treatments.The reason is mainly precautionary:immediately after transplant, grafts are still delicate, swelling and inflammation are active,and pressure/manipulation around the scalp and forehead is minimized early on.By around 10–14 days, grafts are usually fairly secure biologically, but best to wait a bit longer in order to minimise any additional risks .
