I had an RF needling treatment done at the beginning of March this year. I have been left with grid mark scarring on my cheeks that I am now very self conscious of. How can I fix this? I’m getting married in November ):

Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis for most deep scars. The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. We see atrophic and hypertrophic acne scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. We begin each scar evaluation with an assessment of scar quality and subtype. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus 8, scar subcision, fibrous release, fractional laser, CO2 laser, Thulium laser, PDL Vbeam laser, and fractional resurfacing can be used in addition to TCA Cross and chemical peels to further improve skin. Patients should start Melarase AM and Melarase PM for active hyperpigmentation. Always begin with a consultation to decide whether early subcision should be started.

First let me congratulate you on your upcoming wedding. Second, let me say that I am sorry this has happened to you, especially at this time, although I am not surprised. I have been cautioning my regular followers for years now that while professionally performed manual microneedling (whIch I have been performing for over twenty-three years) can be quite helpful for improving superficial, surface texture and color irregularities, I have repeatedly emphasized that RF added to microneedling simply adds to the expense of the treatment and to the risks for the development of pigmentary and textural irregularities. Given the wedding in just three months, you would be wise to consult with an experienced, board certified cosmetic dermatologist as soon as possible.
