Hi i had a rhinoplasty 7 years ago which has left me with some notching of the nostrils. I've noticed that the tip is shinier due to the thin skin and it has a bit of a distinct circle shape where the thin skin is. I was wondering whether its likely that the tip will continue to shrink and get even thinner over the years. Also is there anything that can be done to correct this and make the skin on the tip look less shiny.

Your tip was brought together during your procedure with dome binding sutures that rotated your lower lateral cartilages upward giving you the notching of the nostrils, a pointed tip, and a too much columellar show.  You need to have a consult with a rhinoplasty revision specialist. You can reconstruct the tip area and reposition the lower lateral cartilage. As you age the skin of the nose does get thinner and the tip will come down in the middle making it look a little more pinched and notched but this will take years.

Obviously you are unhappy but it is very difficult to evaluate from the photos you send.  A consultation in person is necessary or a complete set of photos.  From the photo it seems you have very short nasal bones and that may indicate there is some collapse of the nasal valve.  The tip and nostril notching can possibly be corrected with cartilage grafts from the septum or ear.  See a board certified plastic surgeon with a lot of experience in redo or revision rhinoplasty to evaluate your problem, but I do feel there is help.  Good luck, Dr. Schuster in Boca Raton
