I am a 24 years old with no pregnancies. I am a size 10C/D breast and my areola measure 6-7cm diameter when relaxed. one areola is also larger than the other. My areola also appear puffy and have prominent veins making them even more unattractive. I have been thinking about areola reduction for about 3 years now and would love some more information. I am also wanting to avoid other procedures eg. Breast lift if possible. The rough costs involved would also be extremely helpful.

Answer: Are you a candidate for a breast reduction?
You can go to almost whatever you wish. I have done patients from the LGBT community that want to essentially have no breasts. So, it is really up to the patient.
At 7 weeks the wounds should have healed. Occasionally you can have some issues with dissolving stitches around the areola. If you are having nipple discharge you need to be seen and assessed.
Dear Candicedj87,You are a good candidate for an areolar reduction procedure or "donut mastopexy." Speak to an American Board of Plastic Surgery board certified plastic surgeon for a discussion of your goals, options and expectations. Good luck!
