Could butt implants stop a paraplegic getting pressure sores on my I.T.? (photos)

Dear Lis,   Thanks for posting your pictures and sorry for your problems. Unfortunately, butt implants might worsen your situation, since the blood supply to the skin will be compromised, moreover, in face of a contaminated open wound, like in the picture, implants are contra-indicated.   Your best option for  horse riding is very good padding of the saddle , like  water  pillow, or, silicone pillow. They will reduce the pressure on the skin from the bone. However, before returning to horse riding, you need to have your wound repaired, with debridement and flap closure so you will not get osteomyelitis (infection of the bone).                            All the best,                                          Dr Widder    

Although it may seem like a good idea at first, buttock implants would only create more pressure and significantly increase the potential for pressure sores. Only natural autologous (from your own body) tissue should be used to better cushion this area.  Glad to help.
