I have a stretched earlobe hole from a spacer. Would the outcome involve the earlobe being cut from the piercing to the edge? What would be the suitable procedure and cost for this to be performed by a plastic surgeon? Thanks

Thanks for asking.  You hole is small enough to excise around the hole and close rather than cutting out a complete wedge.  This can be performed under local anesthesia and re-pierced 6 weeks later.

The repair of the stretched ear lobe is a great procedure that can restore the ear lobe to a “normal” appearance". Care must be taken during this procedure to avoid reducing the size of the ear and/or creating a notch/ depressed appearance in the area of the rim of the ear lobe. It is usually done under local anesthesia with very high patient satisfaction rates. Re piercing can be done, preferably in a spot away from the scar line, a few months down the line. Costs vary from practice to practice ($800-$1000 in our practice).

You earlobe has a grade 1 defect which is minor. This can be addressed surgically in the office under local anesthesia. Usually $1000 US for both ear lobes.

The procedure starts with a numbing injection to the area, followed by the excision of the inner edges of the piercing, then the incision will be closed with a few stitches. The stitches are removed in 5 days and you can re-pierce the ear in 2 months. Seek a consultation wit a board certified plastic surgeon for pricing information as it will vary.
