I would recommend a surgical repair for this incomplete earlobe tear using layered sutures to directly close the defect; followed by piercing a few weeks later. Best, Dr. KaramanoukianLos Angeles
Thanks for sharing and providing photos. Your earlobes would likely need to be repaired by excising the current elongated piercing. You can look at the "cost" section on RS to determine the pricing range for your procedure. It will vary by city. Best of luck!
Repairing torn earlobes is a common procedure that can be done in the office. The cost will vary by surgeon, but in general, I would say the cost would be in the hundreds of dollars and not thousands.
THis can often occur with time and aging. Wearing long, heavy earrings can make this much worse as well. The cost to fix them varies region to region and surgeon to surgeon, depending on location (hospital vs surgery center) and whether anesthesia is used. We perform these surgery at our office and depending on the severity would cost usually around $1000 using local anesthesia. THis would be done in our procedure room, rather than the operating room, which also reduces the cost. Hope this helps!
The repair of the stretched ear lobe is a great procedure that can restore the ear lobe to a “normal” appearance". Care must be taken during this procedure to avoid reducing the size of the air and/or creating a notch/ depressed appearance in the area of the rim of the ear lobe. It is usually done under local anesthesia with very high patient satisfaction rates. Costs of surgery range from $500-$1000 for both ears, in our practice. You will find many examples of this procedure performed on this website and on the attached link as well. Best wishes.
