Do I require deep HA fillers of more than 1ml for my undereyes? (Photo)

Question

I am a female with medium skin tone. Aged 27. Have hollowness under my eyes. Visited a facial aesthetician who said I would need deep filler treatment for my undereyes, including the tear trough area cuz the hollowness is too deep to be treated with a fine filler only. The brand she wants to use is Neuremis (deep). She says she would use 1 ml of this filler as well as 0.4 of a fine filler in another session after 7-10 days. Does this sound good? I feel like that’s a lot of filler and am scared

The wonderful thing about fillers is that you can go slowly and build up to the look you are wanting.  One syringe of filler for the under eye is within normal range, but it truly depends on the patient.  It is important that you are comfortable with your injector and treatment plan.  Always select an expert injector, review before/after photos if desired, and have all questions answered before treatment begins.

One of the advantages of dermal fillers is that they can be used sparingly to see how they affect your skin and increase the dosage or use more fillers to meet your needs. While injectables are not a surgical procedure, consulting a board-certified facial plastic surgeon or highly trained injection specialist is paramount to ensure proper placement, as fillers can often cause more issues when used incorrectly. A non-surgical eyelift using dermal fillers can effectively reduce under eye issues like hollowness and eye bags. The combination injections can also reduce discoloration and add volume in the tear trough.

I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with a reputable board-certified facial plastic surgeon and expert injector. They will be able to evaluate your concerns and treatment history, then determine the best course of action to achieve your desired results.

Please be aware that filler injection underneath the eyelids is risky and by all means should only be done by an experienced board-certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist who has experience in eyelid surgery.

Although rare there is a risk of blindness following filler injections in the area underneath the eyelids.

In addition only specific non-cross-linked fillers should be used in this area and certainly not more than 0.4 cc on either side.

Fillers will not significantly improve the dark circles under your eyes or the depression most noticeable on the left side.

The only effective method for permanently correcting dark circles under the eyes is surgical and is a procedure called a transconjunctival lower eyelid blepharoplasty with arcus marginalis release and fat grafting.
