I went to a dermatologist and supposedly a top one with experience in all kinds of laser- and was told that these types of veins around the ankle and foot were not easy to remove. However, these are bothering me a LOT and I want them gone. I have them all over both ankles, sadly, at my age. Is it true that these are hard to remove? If so, why? I never got a response as to why. and what is the cost and downtime?

Answer: Spider veins on ankles These spider veins can be easily treated with sclerotherapy. However, clusters of spider veins around the ankles, especially the inner ankles are often due to underlying venous disease. It would be best to get a thorough evaluation from a vein specialist. They may recommend an ultrasound of the veins in your legs to determine the best treatment for you.
