Question

I have visible veins behind my knees and I’m very sedentary so I don’t know if that’s why. Then I have visible veins in my chest going down toward my boobs (sorry if TMI) and I have veins in my face at my forehead, under eyes, beside mouth. They’re all just blue and not bulging. It scares me because I have PoTs and it’s related to EDS and I’m scared I have vascular EDS. I’m not worried about the cosmetic factor. I just want to know if it’s dangerous.

Hi, given the locations of the veins and your fair skin type, this is most likely a normal variant.  However, given your medical history, an evaluation by a specialist maybe appropriate to ensure it is not an early manifestation of another disease process.

There is nothing wrong with these veins that you show in the picture, but they are treatable if they bother you a great deal.  Sclerotherapy is easy with no downtime and very effective.

Visible blue veins are very common and not an indication of something wrong.  The most common causes of your visible veins would be genetics and fair skin.  There is nothing that you need to do about them.  They may improve on their own over time and you have the option of sclerotherapy if you would like to treat them.
