Question

I had a full tummy tuck with muscle repair and lipo on flanks 5 months ago. I am not thrilled with my results. I have a bulge on my lower stomach. Do you think my muscle repair failed?And/ or would liposuction work to make my stomach flat?

I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.

The likely cause is that your lower abdominal wall is a bit stretched out and may not hold the sutures... there are several ways to deal with this, and it generally becomes a judgement call at the time of surgery... in my experience, a transverse suture line (as opposed to the usual vertically oriented suture line) and tightening of the obliques can be performed with/without the use of mesh

Wait a bit for the revision so that your incision can be evened out and lowered, in addition to revising your belly button to a more vertically oriented shape...

There are definitely issues with the cosmetic appearance of your abdominoplasty. The bottom bulge would need plication. Your scars are dark, not straight and a bit long and high. I’m not sure if revision of your scars would be indicated in several months after they are mature. I would also like to review your belly button.
