Will masetter Botox throw off my face shape? (Photo)

Question

I’m interested in getting masetter Botox to achieve a more feminine facial structure but not sure if it would benefit me. I did grind my teeth previously and believe my masetter is quite large but not positive about how the change would affect my face. Please let me know if I would be a good candidate

Botox to the masseter muscles helps to minimize the appearance of this area, leading to a slimming effect of the jawline.  The treatment is done in the office with final results seen after two weeks.  The product wears off gradually over approximately three to four months.

Based on your photos, your jaw appears to be wide in the area of your masseter muscles. You can check with certainty by putting your fingers on these areas and clenching your teeth. Botox in Masseter will help with TMJ and grinding, however at the same time will slim down the lower face. The usual dose is 15-30 units on each side. Two things to keep in mind is repetitive Botox to masseter muscle can make the jowls worse and also can cause hypertrophy of temporalis muscle (the muscle in temple area). Thank you.

It isn’t Botox that your face needs, but you need to correct the lack of fullness in the central face, i.e. your cheeks and lower eyelid area. Your lack of cheeks is inherited from your father, who probably has no cheeks whatsoever. My recommendation is to restore the balance and add more femininity of the face by means of fat grafting. Fat grafting produces natural and practically permanent results in my hands with 30 years of experience in such procedures.
