Bad headaches 6 days after septoplasy and turbinate reduction?

Question

Had a septoplasy and turbinate reduction 6 days ago. Visit my ENT 2 days ago to have the splints removed and said everything looked good for 4 days. I am now have bad headaches that go from my temple to the middle of my forehead and random throbbing under my eye. Is this normal or should I contact the ENT again tomorrow?

Hi thanks for your question. Headaches can occur for various different reasons. They can be related or unrelated to your surgery. I always recommend reaching out to your surgeon with any questions or concerns, especially with new onset of symptoms. Good luck!

Hi Random0716,Usually, in Rhinoplasty, maximum swelling takes place on the 3rd day post op, so maximum pain/discomfort usually presents during this time period, particularly if intranasal packing was used, Should the pain occur after the splint and packing had been removed, then the pain may or may not be related to infection of the sinus. Please see your surgeon.
