How can I make my eyebrows more symmetrical? (Photos)

I dont like how low my eyebrows are and asymmetrical they are. How can i make them more alike and increase the space between my eyes and eyebrows?

Hello and thank you for your question. A formal evaluation would be needed to determine the best treatment. There are both surgical and non-surgical options to correct this, depending on your exact situation.

For less significant issues, there are nonsurgical treatments: To give the eyebrows a nice lift, we use injectable fillers to improve the eyebrow, upper eye, forehead and temple. A filler is placed on the bone and in the fat pads of these areas to contour and lift without it looking overdone. We use cannulas to limit pain and swelling.

Surgery (browlift and/or upper blepharoplasty) is a great option for more significant improvement- for example if there is more substantial eyebrow drooping or asymmetry. I suggest getting a consultation with an experienced cosmetic dermatologist and facial sculpting expert, or an aesthetic facial plastic surgeon like Dr. Donald Groves; we are both located right here in Los Angeles.

Fortunately for those with uneven eyebrows there are
several options to consider:  Botox and endoscopic brow lifts. The Botox
brow lift is a quick procedure that utilizes Botox injections to lift or lower the eyebrows so
that they sit evenly across from each other.  This is best for those with moderate to
severe unevenness.  Results won’t be immediate as it
takes about three days for the Botox to do its work on
immobilizing the muscles. Results should last
about 3-4 months before another treatment is needed. An endoscopic
brow lift is a gentle method that uses several smaller incisions (hidden in the hair.
You can expect to be back to almost all normal activities within two weeks,
although strenuous exercise may have to wait. It is imperative that you follow
all self-care instructions to help maximize good results. Only a qualified
facial plastic surgeon can determine which option is best for you.

Asymmetric brow positions are commonly due to a weakness of the forehead branch of the facial nerve. The asymmetry can be improved with selective injections of Botox to inhibit the depressor muscles and sometimes combined with filler injections to raise the lower eyebrow. I would not recommend surgery because I don't believe an endoscopic brow lift will give you a sustained improvement.

Dear fat93ima, Botox injections can help balance the asymmetry of the brow or an endosopic browlift can be performed which will help open the eyes up more and add some distance between the brow and the lids. Often patients who come to my office with similar complaints feel like they look tired or angry and an endoscopic browlift is a nice option to open up the eyes. Since no skin is excised and the incisions are placed in the hairline there is no tell tale signs of surgery and allows a very natural and youthful looking appearance.
