Otoplasty surgery, my ears are still red and feel itchy. (Photos)

Question

9 months passed on my ears surgery but they are still in red from back side and i still feel itchy sometimes and the left side still a bit swelling. Any answer for that . Please I need an answer for that Thanks

I am sorry to hear about your concerns after otoplasty surgery. It is hard to tell, based on the photographs, whether you are dealing with symptomatic abnormal scarring. Best to followup with your plastic surgeon for in person evaluation. Sometimes, when a patient has a hypertrophic or keloid scar, the use of intralesional steroid injections can be very helpful when it comes to improvement of discomfort and/or itching. Best wishes.

Itching and redness are not at all unusual, even up to a year and a half after otoplasty surgery. Your photos look like everything is healing normally. Give it more time and it will resolve.
