It looks like you may have some skin laxity as well as extra fat. You’d do betterwith a combination of ThermiTight and liposculpture. Consulting with a board-certified dermatologist will allow him or her to take a good look at your skin quality and amount of fat you need removed and make suggestions for the best methods to do so. You need a technique that will address both your loose skin and the excess fat.
Thermage will give minimal improvement and will need to be combined with non-invasive treatments to get the best results. For best results, I recommend a hi definition procedure like VASER liposuction which can be performed at the same time as a thigh lift, to improve skin laxity. I use VASER HI DEF with ThermRF and fat grafting to get the most fat removal, skin tightening, contour and definition. This combination will give you the most toned result. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a hi definition physique expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Thank you for the question and Congratulations on the weight loss! Thermage is a non-invasive radiofrequency device that delivers a controlled electric current to the deep layer of the skin in order to stimulate your body to produce its own collagen. It is tricky to decipher from the photo the degree of skin laxity after your weight loss, so an in-person evaluation with a board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon would be needed to determine which procedure would be most effective for skin tightening. Thermage will allow for a certain degree of skin tightening but surgery may be a better option if the degree of skin laxity is high.
Thermage® is a safe, non-invasive, radiofrequency (RF) cosmetic procedure that’s clinically proven to help smooth, tighten and contour skin for an overall younger looking appearance. The treatment delivers natural looking results with little to no downtime —on all skin colors, on and off the face, all in a single procedure. Fast and easy, you can even come in during your lunch break and return to work after! Thermage® uses radiofrequency technology to heat the deep, collagen rich layers of your skin. The heat helps tighten existing collagen and stimulate the formation of new collagen, which reduces sagging, renews contours, and improves the smoothness and texture of the skin’s surface. Comfort Pulse Technology, including a vibrating handpiece delivers enhanced patient comfort. On the face, Thermage® can treat sagging skin, loose jowls, lack of definition in the jaw line, sagging neck skin (“turkey neck”), wrinkles and fine lines, and lack of definition in the lips. Around the eyes, Thermage® can treat under eye bags, hooding, rough texture on the eyelids, wrinkles and fine lines, and other contributors to tired looking eyes. Elsewhere on the body, Thermage® can treat wrinkled, sagging or bulging skin as well as the appearance of cellulite! While you will see an improvement immediately, Thermage® usually takes up to 6 months to see the maximum result and this improvement is said to last approximately 18 months. Often patients repeat Thermage® more often to get additional tightening. It's important, of course, to make sure you see a board certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist because results can be variable depending on who is performing the procedure.
The new Thermage FLX is an amazing way to tighten the skin around the face, jowls, neck or other areas of the body such as the abdomen or arms, or buttocks. The new Thermage FLX is far superior than the traditional Thermage as it provides extra heat and larger spot size and penetration producing new collagen. Please consult an expert in the new Thermage FLX for the best cosmetic results. Best, Dr. Green
Hi there,Typically, thermage is best suited for mild to moderate skin laxity without much fat. The toning and lifting effects will be observed in 3 - 4 weeks and will continue to improve over a period of 6 months. In some cases with moderately flabby arms, thermage when combined with arm workouts and a proper diet can provide good results. From your picture it is difficult to tell with certainty. I'd recommend consulting a board certified cosmetic surgeon to get a better idea.Hope this helps.
No, in this setting Thermage is not predictable as liposuction - energy based lipo. An assessment is needed to see if this is loose skin, or a combination of skin laxity, or skin laxity and fat. Thermage is best for on label indications in patients with little sun damage but loose collagen. All the best, The Fiori Institute, Brisbane. Australia.
