5 days post-op rhinoplasty. Is it okay to clean wound with betadine solution?

Hi Doctors, I am on my 5th day after a closed rhinoplasty, no broken bone just implant. I cleaned my nose with normal saline water and dried it as per my Doctor's instruction. I just took the extra step of dabbing it with betadine solution, is this okay? Thank you.

It could be due an edema that hasn't completely resolved yet, however, I would advise returning to your surgeon to discuss what the original goals were for the surgery to decipher whether they have been met.

Can pinching and pushing your nose change the shape of your nose? Can it cause permanent damage ?

Hello,It is probably due to swelling! It takes 1-3 years for the swelling to fully go down after a rhinoplasty. The tip takes the longest time to heal and mold to the new framework because it is the thickest skin of the nose. The skin over the profile is thinner than the skin over the tip.
