Should I request a biopsy for an itching and tingling mole?

I have a mole that is itching and tingling. I have seen a dermatologist (first time seeing one) and he said it was nothing of concern. I have been told, by friends that have had melanoma spots, I should have requested a biopsy and/or seek a second opinion. Can an itching and tingling mole be of no concern or should I have a biopsy? I am new to this and my research shows itching and tingling is definitely cause for concern. What say you?

I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Moles can be removed with laser, radiowave or shave. Redness can be improved with a combination of lasers (ProYellow, Excel, VBeam) and microneedling/prp. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

You really have to give it more time for it to settle before you get concerned, its only 3 weeks and scar will 'mature' over the next few months. After about 3m, you will see what it will start to look like and even then, it will improve. you should follow your surgeons scar care instructions...
