I am 21, female, and recently lost 40 lbs. Now at 190, the one place that hasn't changed is my mons pubis. I can't wear jeans, leggings, or even basic panties because of it. (To give an estimate, it is like a two baseball mitts cupping my crotch, and I get accused of having male genitals.) I'm dead-set on getting something done, so I'm curious what the cost of lipo and lift would be packaged together, or if there is a better option to get a normal looking vagina, and the cost.

Answer: Mons pubis work I'm afraid it's very difficult to estimate a price because so many variables are involved. The price depends not only on geographic area, the expertise of the surgeon, etc., but on the extent of the procedure itself. This can only be determined with an in-person examination. Most likely, liposuction in a massive weight loss patient is going to result in loose, hanging skin. It is very likely that you would need some of the skin removed in some variety of pattern, the likes of which depend upon your specific exam. I think your first step is to set up some consultations with board-certified plastic surgeons in your area. Make sure that you see someone who is capable of surgery, and not just going to offer you liposuction because that is all they can do.Best of luck!Dr. SubbioBoard-Certified Plastic SurgeonNewtown Square/Philadelphia, PA

Answer: Monsplasty In my experience, patients in need of a monsplasty have had significant weight changes and so often are also in need of an abdominoplasty. I perform monsplasty in almost all large weight loss abdominoplasty surgeries in my practice. In my experience, this fat is very resistant to liposuction only and usually requires liposuction, direct excision of fat and excision of skin. I would recommend finding a BSPS with extensive experience in large weight loss patients.
