I have worsening horizontal lined on my neck and loose/crepey skin. I have always worn sunscreen and use medical grade skincare. Why do certain areas look wrinkly and is there anything that can help with the lines/loose skin?
Answer: Loose and crepey skin can be address by doing resurfacing lasers and hydrating fillers. Fractional laser is an amazing and highly effective treatment in our office. We use the laser treatment to help with acne scars, large pores, fine wrinkles, tissue collagen loss, scars, sebaceous hyperplasia, active acne, and for brightening dark pigmentation. Although there are very strong fractional lasers such as CO2 laser, we use lighter treatments for corrective skincare and maintenance of results. Our Thulium fractional laser, clear and brilliant laser, and Ultra Thulium laser are excellent options in our clinic. We also perform CO2 fractional and erbium depending on skin tone and tolerance for downtime. Patients do have to use a Melarase cream before and after treatment to help further reduce pigmentation after laser. Melarase AM, Melarase PM, and Melapads can seriously improve surface sun damage and UV related pigmentation. Dark spots can improve with these treatments. I recommend fractional laser for incisional scars as well, especially after plastic surgery. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: RF microneedling: what you should know Thank you for your question and for providing photos. You would likely benefit from RF microneedling to increase your body’s natural collagen production and restore the skin’s elasticity for a smooth, long-lasting result. This laser resurfacing technique uses radiofrequency technology to remove the outermost layer of dermal tissue and reveal the more youthful layer of skin below. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon who can assess your concern and suggest the best treatment option.

Answer: Nano-fat grafting Horizontal lines in the neck are one of the most difficult problems to deal with. It has been shown, in our and other surgeons experience, that injection of nano-fat grafts (stem cells) can improve this condition better than any other techniques we used in the past. Good luck.

Answer: Neck Lines / Tech Neck / Neck Wrinkles -- Soft Fillers (Belotero) in combination w/ Lasers and Microneedling/PRP Injecting soft fillers like Belotero in this area can reduce lines, wrinkles and folds as well as improve skin texture with long-term collagen production. Fillers are being used more frequently to contour and lift rather than solely line fill. Of course, fillers are best used in combination with lasers and microneedling with PRP to get the optimal outcome. I suggest getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist to create an individualized treatment plan that works for you. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Yes, a few things This is a very common concern that I see for women in their 20s and 30s. A multimodal approach is best, and know that you will probably need a few treatments and regular maintenance to eliminate and keep this area improved. Dilute filler and microtox, radiofrequency microneedling, and laser/light treatments can all be helpful here. Find a plastic surgeon you like and make a consult to go over your options. Best of luck!
