Dr. Caban is FABULOUS. Extremely meticulous surgeon with a great eye and a careful approach. Dr. Caban is down to earth and easy to talk to. To top it off, his staff is amazing! Smart, caring, and pleasant. Dr. Caban is absolutely invested in patient care at every stage. He listened carefully in the initial consult and provided his informed opinion. He is not pushy with products or proceduers. For me, the goal was a natural and functional outcome. And that's exactly what I got.
I truly cannot express in words what a fantastic, life-changing experience I had undergoing a rhinoplasty and lower blepharoplasty with Dr. Cabin. I had never done any cosmetic procedures (and never thought I would) despite having not loved my nose all my life. After I did my consultation with Dr. Cabin, I immediately felt a sense of calm about doing the procedure with him. He listened to everything I had to say and never rushed my many questions. When I attempted to articulate the things that bothered me about my nose, he immediately understood and had solutions for how to address my concerns in a way that would result in a nose that better suited my face aesthetically, yet did not compromise on its structural integrity. Before I met Dr. Cabin, I went to several other consultations and no other doctor left me with the confidence about their ability to address my concerns nor a feeling that they truly understood what I wanted to achieve. If I have any regret, it's that I didn't find Dr. Cabin sooner! I am SO, SO happy with my rhinoplasty and lower blepharoplasty. I feel more confident than ever, I can enjoy more hairstyles that pull my hair off my face, and I no longer waste time and energy thinking about which angle of my nose is being captured in photos, etc. Dr. Cabin enhanced my nose while preserving the character of my nose in a way that still makes it look like "me." While researching various doctors and rhinoplasties, I read a few horror stories about patients using surgeons who took aggressive approaches that the patient never agreed to, but I had a deep sense of calm knowing I did not have to worry about that with Dr. Cabin. Dr. Cabin's office and staff were fantastic throuhgout the entire process and have continued to be so wonderful during my regular monthly check-ins. The surgical center he uses for surgery day was also fantastic. 11/10, cannot recommend highly enough! Go do a consultation and you will see for yourself.
From my initial consultation to the post-operative care, my experience with Dr. Cabin was nothing short of exceptional. What truly sets him apart is his unwavering honesty and integrity throughout the process. He provided me with realistic expectations and personalized advice, ensuring that I felt fully informed and confident in my decision to undergo my rhinoplasty. Trust is paramount when it comes to cosmetic surgery, and Dr. Cabin earned mine completely. His philosophy towards a natural approach resonated deeply with me, aiming for results that enhance rather than alter one's inherent beauty. This principle was evident in the subtle yet transformative outcome of my procedure. Dr. Cabin's willingness to answer every question—no matter how small—played a significant role in easing my anxieties. He and his staff created an environment of warmth and safety, making me feel comfortable and cared for at every stage of the journey. Their attentiveness and empathy were truly comforting, especially in moments of uncertainty. Perhaps what I appreciate most about Dr. Cabin is his holistic view of facial aesthetics. He is the only professional I trust for both non-invasive treatments like injectables and more complex procedures. His expertise and gentle approach have made him my go-to for all things cosmetic, ensuring that my face receives only the highest standard of care. In summary, if you're considering any form of cosmetic enhancement, Dr. Cabin is the embodiment of professionalism, skill, and compassion. My experience has been profoundly positive, and I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone looking to embark on their own journey of self-improvement.
I’ve spent the majority of my life despising my nose and knew that I eventually wanted to undergo a primary rhinoplasty. I spent countless hours researching and consulting with numerous plastic surgeons. Although, I continued to feel a sense of uncertainty. A lot of surgeons had aesthetic approaches that I was not overly comfortable with, while others simply did not seem to listen to my concerns or expectations. Rhinoplasty is a major, life-altering commitment and I was unwilling to commit to a surgeon simply because I was eager to have it performed. Meeting Dr. Cabin was a breath of fresh air. I explained my goals for rhinoplasty and he immediately eased a lot of my prior frustrations by expressing that he agreed with all of my concerns and was confident that he could help. One of the most impressive aspects of his technique was that he was genuinely interested in making my nose perfect for my face and not necessarily focused on giving me a perfect nose. From our first introduction forward, I was confident that Dr. Cabin was the surgeon for me. Now, pre- and post-operatively, I am continuously impressed by the dedication and direct support from his entire team (Natalie, Marina, and Matthew). Right now, I am two weeks post-op and I cannot wait for the initial swelling to subside so I can truly appreciate the final result! I cannot recommend Dr. Cabin and his team enough. The only regret I have is not finding them sooner!
Dr. Cabin is perhaps the only person I trust implicitly with my face. After seeing him for many years in LA (for botox and filler), I was bummed when he moved with his family to Arlington, VA. Luckily though, I'm from the MD area, so I make it a point to schedule my injections with Dr. Cabin when I travel back to see family. Dr. Cabin and I talked about an upper blepharoplasty for a while, and I finally decided on a couple weeks when I could carve out some time to be back home for the procedure (and recovery). The staff at SkinDC was pleasant, attentive, and helpful throughout the scheduling and pre-op process, and they helped me make it all work while living on the other side of the country. We Zoomed in the lead up, and the office called the necessary prescriptions into my pharmacy in LA so that I was as prepared as possible. The same goes for the actual procedure. I met with Dr. Cabin the day or so before the procedure to review everything, and so they could tell me everything else I needed to know. On the day of the procedure, Dr. Cabin and the rest of the staff put me at ease, and I felt so grateful to be in such good hands (literally). The procedure itself went smoothly, and at one point when the numbing wore off and I was feeling some discomfort where he was working, Dr. Cabin stopped to give me a break. At this time, they also numbed the area more, and give me a little more of the mild anxiety meds (the "MKO melt," short for midazolam/ketamine/ondansetron) to take the edge off. When everything was finished, I got picked up from the office (you can't drive and must have a ride). There was of course some discomfort, but Dr. Cabin continued to check in on me. I went back for a routine follow up the day after, and I was reassured that the stitches and everything looked as they were supposed to. Dr. Cabin was clear about everything I needed to do, as well as what I could not do (exercise, drink alcohol, wear eye makeup, etc.), as well as the duration for the dos and do nots. Then, one week later, I went back for him to remove the stitches. For anyone considering an upper bleph, I would plan for one week of not being "presentable." And one more week of not looking your best. After two weeks, the swelling was down and I wasn't embarrassed to be in public. From there, everything just continued to improve, and I am really happy with the result. As Dr. Cabin told me, my eyes look more open and not as "heavy." While the average person may not notice I had anything done (which isn't necessarily a bad thing), it is very noticeable to me, as well as to anyone who sees me a lot (or anyone who looks at a "before" picture). I imagine that if I lived locally, I would maybe have gone back for more in-person check ups, but we did a couple Zoom sessions so Dr. Cabin could see how everything was healing. I took care of the incision sites as instructed, and used the scar gel for the advised time afterwards, and you can barely see any scarring. If I close my eyes and you look carefully, there is the faintest line on my right eye. This very slight mark though isn't visible at all when my eyes are open, and no one would ever know unless they were trying to look for it. I strongly endorse Dr. Cabin and SkinDC for the upper bleph and any other facial procedures. Even though I've yet to do any other major facial surgeries, I'll definitely go back to him if/when I decide to do so. He's a master of his craft, has an amazing "bedside manner," and cares deeply about his patients and what he does.
I can't say enough good things about my experience with Dr. Cabin. This was my first-ever cosmetic surgery, and I was really nervous. However, from our pre-surgery appointment, to the day-of, and post-surgery, Dr. Cabin was both reassuring and professional. He told me exactly what I could expect in terms of results, as well as what to not expect. I appreciated his realistic approach, and am thrilled with the outcome. I have already recommended Dr. Cabin to friends, and will continue to do so. I'm grateful I got to work with him.
I had an endoscopic brow lift and lip lift scar revision with an out of state surgeon and he recommended Dr.Cabin to remove my sutures and scalp staples as I live in Arlington. Dr.Cabin is so knowledgeable, kind, and talented. He removed my sutures and scalp staples painlessly and efficiently. I could not have asked for a better experience. I'm so glad my out of state provider made me aware of Dr.Cabin.
After seeing Dr. Cabin for fillers for a year, I decided to choose him for my revision rhinoplasty and upper lip lift. I truly think Dr. Cabin is one of best surgeons in the country (if not the best). It is a huge decision to choose a surgeon, and I could not be happier I chose Dr. Cabin. I am very picky, don’t wear a lot of makeup and wanted to look extremely natural. Dr. Cabin spent so much time with me prior to the surgery answering my questions and walking me through every detail. I am about 6 months post surgery and I am so happy. It was the best decision I’ve ever made. I feel so much more confident and I’ve had more than one person tell me I look like a model! Not only am I extremely pleased with the results, the whole experience was so smooth, professional and comforting. Dr. Cabin and his staff really make you feel like family. They are responsive, warm, and make me feel comfortable asking my many questions.
SkinDC is one of the best, if not the best, advanced Dermatology & Facial Plastic Surgery Centers in the area. I unfortunately suffered an injury requiring multiple stitches on my forehead. One can only imagine the trauma this incident caused, especially since I’d never had a broken bone or needed sutures in my 40 years of living up to that point. Thank God for SkinDC, my wonderful dermatologist (Dr. Naga) recommend that I meet with Dr. Cabin to see if I was a candidate for scar revision surgery. Note: I previously met with another plastic surgeon and he was afraid he’d make my forehead look worse. I’m sure the chair in his office is still spinning because I left so fast. Worse was not and is not an option… After a very thorough meeting with Dr. Cabin I was excited to move forward; four months post scar revision surgery and I’m grateful for the progress!!! Dr. Cabin is excellent (very meticulous) at what he does and his bedside manners are superb! I don’t typically write reviews but wanted to be of help to anyone who may have experienced an unfortunate accident and searching for optimal solutions. SkinDC is a great choice, Dr. Naga and Dr. Cabin are my doctors but I’m sure all of the doctors there are of the same caliber.
I don't even know where to begin. He is the absolute best. His surgical skills are pristine. He is a truly skilled surgeon with the ability to make the end result look like you envisioned. I am super picky and like to do my research. I met with several, like SEVERAL, doctors before I decided to move forward with my procedure and I immediately knew he was the one I wanted to do my surgery. He actually listens to you and then gives you a very thoughtful, honest and realistic answer which to me was everything. He also takes the time to explain the clinical side which I really appreciated understanding all of the components and reasons of why and what he may need to do. Importantly, he is truly one of the most kind human beings I've ever met. I'm pretty sure I am not an easy patient and he made me feel safe and at complete ease the whole time. Answered all of my questions and never dismissed anything I wanted him to check out --all without making me feel like I was annoying which I am pretty sure I was. I hope reading my review is helpful but I really hope you look at my pictures --it says more than my words possibly could. When you see my before and after pictures you will quickly see that this was not an easy procedure and only someone best in class could have handled it. DC is so very lucky to have him. Thank you for taking such good care of me Dr. Cabin.
When undergoing any facial plastic surgery, all three components of facial aging must be considered and potentially addressed: 1) Skin quality2) Gravitation descent of tissues3) Loss of volume If a patient issues are not addressed in a balanced way, an otherwise well-performed surgery could turn out to look unnatural. A deep plane facelift is the gold standard facelift for anyone who has had gravitational shift of tissue. But for balance, laser resurfacing (CO2 or Erb:YAG) for skin and fat grafting for volume restoration must be considered. For issues related to volume loss or a thin face, fat grafting should be considered as an adjunct procedure.
There are three things to be concerned about when considering multiple surgeries at once: 1) How long you will be under anesthesia.2) Whether the doctor will have the stamina to complete all the surgeries well.3) Whether some of the surgeries are best to be performed in a staggered manner to get the very best result. I would ask your physician these questions.
Hi there, Thank you for sharing your concerns and photos. I'm sorry you're feeling self-conscious about your scar. In general, scars mature for up to a year, so the texture and color will likely continue to get better. Based on your photos - in addition to the white line - there seems to be some areas of raised (hypertrophic) scarring, and other areas of redness. In my experience, redness can be improved with lasers - such as PDL or vascular laser - and any thickening can be improved with micro-needling and/or injections of diluted steroid or 5FU. It also appears from the photo that the scar may be positioned a bit lower than the natural sub-nasal crease, an area commonly used to hide lip lift incisions/scars. In the case that the scar is misplaced too low, and in patients similar to you that have come to me from elsewhere, a small revision to place the incision higher up is required. Hope this helps and best of luck! - Dr. Cabin
Hi there, A lip lift primarily reduces the space between the base of the nose and the upper lip (also called the "cutaneous upper lip") and improves tooth show with soft opening of the mouth. Depending on how the procedure is done, it can also - but does not necessarily - improve the eversion/height of the upper lip (also called the "mucosal upper lip"). If your issue is tooth show with smiling, this will likely not be improved with a lip lift as a lip lift does little to impact this. But to assess candidacy for a lip lift requires at least a photo from the front at rest and with soft mouth opening. Hope this helps! Best, Dr. Cabin
Hi Jessie, Thanks for sharing your question and photo. In similar situations I've handled - patients with greater than 2mm tooth show - I did not use a traditional (bullhorn) lip lift, as it would have most certainly led to exaggerated tooth show. Whether or not you're a candidate for a V-Y advancement or other surgical/non-surgical volumization depends on your aesthetic goals, which you didn't specify. It would also require different photographic views, along with a history and physical examination. Hope this helps and best of luck! - Dr. Cabin
