Spit up permanent sutures

Typically your body will create the connections between the skin and muscle or tarsal plate in the first 2-3 months after surgery. Some surgeons, myself included, will use temporary sutures that will be absorbed within 2-3 months while the body forms this connection. The depth of your crease likely has more to do with the placement of the suture rather than the duration it was in place, since 2 months in sufficient time to form this connection.
