Significant hair loss using Minoxidil for beard growth (Photo)

31 y/o male. Last year read about using min 5% for beard growth 2x a day. Used Sep-Nov, the last 4 weeks scalp shedding was so extreme I had to quit. Hairline receded a half inch and temples even worse. Dermatologists i've seen have 0 answers and don't believe me. Bloodwork is normal. Lost 20-30% overall density along with recession. I know this was due to minoxidil. Been seven months since stopping. 1) Is this a min shed? 2) Telogen effluvium? 3) Did I permanently ruin my hair? Thank you!!

this is normal male loss and needs transplant andor in office prp/acell. start theradome now (see link).

You need a formal evaluation to see what type of hair loss you may have. when you have hairless its best to do a full hormonal workup for internal optimization plus scalp biopsies or scrapings to rule out any stress related, inflammatory, autoimmune or infectious causes of hair loss. In general most people with early hair loss have telogen (stress related) and/or androgenetic (normal aging) and both can be treated with in office treatments like steroid injections, PRP/acell, Exosomes and at home treatments like oral medications, oral vitamins like Viviscal, topical exfoliating sprays like Restorsea, and weekly growth factors like anteagemd.  See an expert for an evaluation. If hair loss is significant it may requires hair transplant (follicular unit translation).
