Hello. I am a female 18. I wanted to ask if this seems like a case of ptosis? And what can I do from here? I wear eye glasses and I also have to raise my eyebrows to be able to see. I have a mean tired look when my face is rested. Thank you.

Based on these photos, you do have eyelid ptosis. Depending on the muscle function, there are a couple of different options, in terms of surgical technique, to raise the eyelids. Seek an oculoplastics surgeon that is comfortable and experienced with both internal and external ptosis repair approaches so that you can choose what is right for you.

Hello CP.  It appears that what you have is "natural ptosis".  Not necessarily anything abnormal, but just a genetic predisposition for low or "lazy" eyelids.  Surgical intervention for natural ptosis is possible and involves lifting the eyelids using a repositioning of the muscle that supports the upper lids.  While recommending surgery for someone young like yourself is not always our first preference, if the issue bothers you enough, you appear to be a good candidate for the surgery.  A facial plastic or oculoplastic surgeon that specializes in ptosis repair is a good starting point.  Best of luck.

Surgery is what is needed to correct this. The most common ptosis surgery is called Müller's muscle conjunctival resection surgery. Perhaps 90% of ptosis is addressed with this surgery. Unfortunately is often ineffective and necessitated a surgical revision. It is so very popular with surgeons because the anatomy is very simple and the surgery takes about 10 minutes. However you have significant ptosis and it is unlikely that this surgery will be sufficiently effective to address your ptosis. A better alternative is a surgery called the anterior levator resection ptosis surgery which is much more powerful. Still a detailed personal assessment is needed to determine which ptosis surgery will be right for you. You need both an effective surgery and an excellent aesthetic result.
