Hi there! I’m in my early 30s and would like to know if these are realistic results. I can pnch lots of fat on my love handles and side abdomen. I also have some hip dents I’d love to fill, while getting rid of upper hip fat. Is there an issue if we take fat from the lip but transfer it to the lower hip to round out my dips? Do you recommend doing lipo of other areas while I’m under? Thank you so much in advance.
Answer: Evaluating the Feasibility of Achieving Desired Body Contouring Results Hello happygirl070707 in Chula Vista, and thank you for your question regarding the possibility of achieving specific body contouring results. Thank you for providing a picture and details about your concerns. Based on your description, achieving the results you desire does appear to be obtainable. Liposuction is an excellent option for addressing localized fat deposits, such as those on your love handles and side abdomen. Additionally, the fat removed from these areas can potentially be used to fill in the hip dents you mentioned, enhancing the overall contour and silhouette of your hips. Suggested Procedures: Liposuction: Targeting the upper, middle, and lower abdomen, as well as the superior iliac crest (the area you referred to as 'upper hip'), would help in sculpting these areas and reducing the excess fat. This comprehensive approach is often referred to as 360-degree liposuction. Autologous Fat Transfer (AFT): The fat harvested from the liposuction procedure can be purified and then strategically injected into the areas of the hips where you have dents. This technique helps in creating a smoother, more rounded hip line. Additional Considerations: Compression Garments: Wearing a compression garment for 6 to 8 weeks post-surgery is crucial. It helps in reducing swelling and supports the tissues as they heal, ensuring the skin conforms to the new contours of your body. Multiple Area Liposuction: If considering additional areas for liposuction during the same session, discuss this with your surgeon. Addressing multiple areas can be more efficient and might provide a more balanced result, but it also depends on your overall health and the surgeon's assessment. Recommendations: Choosing the Right Surgeon: It's important to select a board-certified plastic surgeon who has extensive experience in liposuction and fat transfer procedures. An experienced surgeon can better assess the feasibility of achieving the desired results and ensure a safe and effective procedure. Consultation: During your consultation, discuss all your areas of concern, your aesthetic goals, and any previous surgeries or medical conditions that might affect the surgery. This will help your surgeon tailor the procedure to best meet your expectations. Overall, with the right approach and an experienced surgeon, the goals you outlined are within reach. Good luck with your body contouring journey, and I hope you achieve the results that make you feel confident and happy. Sincerely, J. Timothy Katzen, MD, FASMBS, FICS Plastic Surgeon

Answer: Liposuction Actually, the "dips" are normal and the excess fat above in your flanks and below in your lateral thighs can be removed with liposuction. I suggest avoiding filling in those dips to make your hips wider, and doing liposuction to be slimmer.

Answer: Surgical plan Those results are obtainable with a procedure including Liposuction of the abdomen and back/hips to really narrow your waist and create an hour glass shape while transferring that fat to your hips filling in your hip dips. I would recommend scheduling a consult with a board certified plastic surgeon like myself to create a surgical plan that aligns with your desired results.

Answer: Body Contouring Hello, my name is Dr Burko, and I am a Plastic Surgeon at SY Aesthetics in NYC. Based on the photo, it does look like you are a candidate for body contouring surgery. It is best to see a plastic surgeon during an in person consultation to assess which areas of your body are best addressed with liposuction. The fat can then be transferred to your buttocks/hips. Depending on your skin laxity, a tummy tuck is another potential option to help flatten and shape your abdomen.
