Is it normal to feel your lip arteries with your tongue after Lip Filler? (photos)

When I got lip filler for the third time 4 years ago I ended up with a bump on my lip and I remember feeling a line sticking with my tongue out on my left side inside my lips. My doctor tried to dissolve the bump, but it never really went away. Cut to 5 years later and I dissolved my filler and this bump is still there and I realized that long line I felt and still feel is my artery. I can feel the artery on my left side of my bottom mouth too. Is this normal? Is this bump scar tissue?

It would be best to book a consultation with an experienced injector to determine whether the small bump is actually your artery. Though this is not overly common, arteries and vessels can lie superficial for some patients, so this could possibly be the case. It could also be scar tissue, mucousa cysts, fordyce spots, etc.

Hi and welcome to our forum!From your photo, I note the mass in question. There is no way to guess its cause from a photograph. It may simply be scar tissue, which is transmitting the pulsations of the underlying labial artery. One can normally palpate the artery. Rarely, it could represent an aneurysm of the labial artery itself.It is best to get it checked out by your plastic surgeon just to be sure.Best wishes...
