Power assisted Liposuction is one option. Exilis, Coolsculpting and other non-invasive treatments MAY destroy and dehydrate some fat cells, but these treatments never physically remove fat with the fat cells. Also, one of the side effects of Coolsculpting, paradoxically, is the increase in size of a group of fat cells which results in lumps and bumps. Outpatient lipo., utilizing a topical anesthetic, results in the permanent removal of without the risk of causing hypertrophy of the fat cells.

Only a small caliber liposuction cannula under local anesthesia would offer the better improvement alternatives in my opinion. Using all these technologies just increases the costs/fees. The fee for 1 side knee lipo $3,000.

Radio frequency treatments are not particularly useful for reducing subcutaneous fat. It is certainly not the gold standard.

Liposuction is the correct and last effective way of removing undesirable subcutaneous fat. Results are highly operator dependent but the procedure will definitely remove the fat.

Liposuction involves removal of fat through small pipes (cannulas) placed under the skin under extreme vacuum after pretreatment with an infusion of solution containing a blood vessel constrictor (to prevent bleeding) and a local anesthetic (if performed awake). Augmented liposuction utilizes laser energy or ultrasonic energy to semiliquify the fat, making it easier to remove and adds a subtle skin tightening effect.
In general, the experience of the surgeon is more important than the type of instrument utilized.
I recommend you visit a plastic surgeon with considerable liposuction experience and allow him / her to use the instrument with which he / she feels most comfortable.
Coolsculpting is a non-surgical alternative to liposuction and is somewhat less effective.
Visit a board certified plastic surgeon for evaluation and discussion.

The gold standard procedure for removal of stubborn fat collections under the surface of skin and above the muscle is liposuction.
Many types of liposuction exist, and you will want a skilled surgeon who is comfortable with liposculpting as the knee area is a more delicate area to liposuction.
Non surgical surface technologies are unpredictable with results, and may do nothing.
In my hands liposculpting with the smallest cannulas and careful tumescent anesthesia give beautiful results.
