You're right that filler where the blue line is could make your face a little wider, and could also cause you to look more feminine, which it sounds like you don't want. To enhance a male face, filler is most often placed somewhat near the red area that you circled - mostly down below from the outermost corner of your eyes. Filling in this area can definitely "pop-out" the red area.
