Botox Deep Static Frown Line (Photo)

Hello Powerful. Dermal fillers in this area are a great option. With an experienced injector, this area can be dosed safely and effectively with products like Restylane (see link below, second row, third photo from left). Restylane products work very well and last a long time also. We can get up to 2-3 years when the patient is having Botox (Dysport) and dermal fillers at the same time.

The frown line you’re referring to may benefit from hyaluronic acid dermal fillers or a facial fat transfer, both of which can restore volume to achieve a smooth result. RF microneedling can also reduce lines on the face by increasing collagen and elastin production with gentle radiofrequency technology. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon or expert injector. They will be able to review your treatment history, discuss your concerns and goals with you, and determine the best approach.

Frown lines can be very pesky and difficult to provide a full correction when they are severe. I would recommend to treat the surrounding muscle groups like your frontalis and orbicularis oculi muscle (crows feet). Doing so will help to relax the accessory muscles that contribute to severity of frown lines. FDA suggests that you treat the upper face with about 64 units in total for optimal results. If there is still no improvement after increasing dosing, my suggestion would be to try out different Neuromodulators such as Dysport or Daxxify to see if optimal results can be achievable.

You would be wise to be certain that you are consulting with an experienced board certified cosmetic dermatologist. This is a fairly common condition in my experience. If you are truly resistant to Botox, the use of Xeomin may be worth a try., since some people do develop a kind of resistance to the Botox following several prior treatment sessions. Regardless, the expert use of a low viscosity, cohesive, malleable HA filler can by itself elevate and smooth the crease that has etched the skin following years of muscular action and static muscular tension there. Although Botox would be my first option to treat frown lines or furrows, sometimes I will also use an injectable filler to provide more improvement. You might consider this as an option to improve your deep frown line.

In order to eliminate the frown line, the tension created with movement has to be removed. As long as your muscles can create the line, the skin will not be able to heal itself. I usually will redirect the tension vectors laterally and that changes the way you frown and will help in the long run. It needs to be treated to the outcome where you no longer can create the line and then it should soften. Hi, thank you for your question! If you are still experiencing a deep crease after having botox multiple times you can fill the glabellar line directly with filler. I currently use Volbella off label for the glabellar lines. Filler is not currently FDA approved for this area. I also use smooth threads for the glabellar lines. Smooth threads are dissolvable sutures that help stimulate your natural collagen growth. I would recommend having a consultation with a certified injector.
