Bone like bump on nose tip after rib rhinoplasty. Anything I can do to fix it? (Photo)

I had Asian rib rhinoplasty and was quite happy with the result until this past week I noticed that there is this bone-like bump on the tip of my nose. It made my nose tip look pointy and made my nose look unnatural. Also, I can only feel the hard bump on the middle to the left side of my nose tip Is there anything I can do to fix it?

Thank you for your question. Most likely, the bump you're feeling is the rib graft, which is used to project the nose and give it support. Typically in these cases the tip will always be more firm, and over time it may soften somewhat. If the firmness is truly bothersome, a graft could be placed in the nose to soften it (think of it like a blanket over the bump). I hope that's helpful, and I wish you all the best.

It depends how long you are after your rhinoplasty. You're likely seeing cartilage through your tip as swelling resolves. This can feel hard as bone. When your swelling has reduced, depending on your examination, microdroplet Silikon1000 injections may be considered for camouflaging this visible point. Hope this helps. Dr Joseph
