Answer: Case analysis It is amazing the surprises that we as plastic surgeon can get whenever we are performing a Liposuction, in some cases we can expect to have small amounts in certain patients and we have a lot. The amount of fat can not be precisely be predicted before a procedure.

Answer: Estimating fat removal Estimating how much fat can be removed by looking at pictures tends to be very inaccurate. There are a lot of variables to take into consideration, including the level of aggressiveness of the procedure. Your torso appears to have relatively thin layers of subcutaneous fat. It almost looks like you may have had Liposuction previously. you carry a substantial amount of subcutaneous fat on your upper extremities. Arm liposuction is approached very differently based on who does the procedure. Personally I treat arms circumferentially, and usually remove substantial amounts of fat from upper extremities. If you’ve had previous Liposuction, then don’t expect there to be a lot of change from a secondary procedure. From your torso, a reasonable amount of fat harvested may be one and a half L. Your arms may deliver 750 milliliters per side. Lower extremity Liposuction tends to not create the results patients had hoped for , though a significant amount of fat can often often be harvested. Upper inner thigh and banana roll are two areas that typically do not respond well to Liposuction or at least does not give the type of results patients had hoped for. Delivering consistent quality liposuction results is more difficult than most people believe. There are generally only two variables that determine what results are going to look like. The first is the patient’s candidacy for the procedure, and the second is the skill and experience of the provider. Based on your pictures, I’m assuming you’ve already had the procedure. That is a lot of areas to have treated in one procedure. Plastic surgeons may be reluctant to be overly aggressive when doing that much surgery in a single session. There is substantial variation in skill and experience among plastic surgeons when it comes to Liposuction. Patients should be very selective when it comes to choosing a provider. I recommend patients do that. I have a multiple in person consultations, which gives them an opportunity to get a more accurate understanding of your own candidacy and help that providers to find the best surgeon. During each consultation, ask each provider to open up your portfolio and show you their entire collection of before and after pictures of previous patients who have similar body characteristics to your house. This is the best way to get a clear understanding of what results may look like. An experienced provider should have no difficulty showing you the before, and after pictures of at least 50 previous patients. Being shown a handful of pre-selected images, representing the best results of a providers career is insufficient to get a clear understanding of what average results look like in the hands of each provider or how many of these procedures they have actually done. Mastering Liposuction requires doing thousands of cases with a total commitment to excellence. Patients should be more selective than they think necessary when it comes to choosing Liposuction providers. It is also very important to understand your own candidacy for the procedure. Liposuction is only one tissue variable, and a substantial number of people have other variables that contributed significantly to shape and contour. Certainly anatomic Area respond much better to Liposuction than other areas. Quality Liposuction is not judged by the amount of fat removed. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
