150 / 175 cc to enhance natural 32 C? (Photo)

Question

I want to go with a 150 or 175 cc, my current breast size is about a 32 C or and I'm happy with a C cup but I just want a very subtle change in size. I want a very natural look and feel but want a little pop or enhance what I naturally have. Almost like a soft push up bra effect. Open to thoughts/suggestions. My plastic surgeon suggests going above the muscle because I exercise, yoga, surf, and have enough tissue. do you think this would look and feel natural?

After I measure and discuss goals with my patients, we then look at pictures of women (my patients) with similar measurements with different size and style breast implants, and they choose what looks right for them. They also get to see what they would look like when the breasts have fully dropped and fluffed and in clothes. breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small.You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals.

Thank you for your question. Based on the limited picture, I think you will get a great result with an implant that is smaller than 200 cc. This will provide approximately 1 cup size increase, but will not look “overdone.” if you have enough tissue at the top of the breast, then the implant should be nicely camouflaged. Another option is to go with a slightly smaller implant than you had originally intended and camouflage. The implant even more with fat grafting. Good luck.

I would recommend under the muscle if you are looking for a natural look. It will not interfere with any of the activities that you mentioned. If you are looking for a subtle enhancement I would recommend a low plus or moderate profile silicone implant around 175-200cc. This will give you a natural look and feel. I would recommend under the muscle. Above has more risks of encapsulation or hardening in my opinion. Been doing under the muscle for 23 years and it has served me well. Just my opinion. Best to see a board certified plastic surgeon for best results.

You would go up about one cup in size and should do well with it. Placing the implant behind the muscle will give more upper breast fullness than in front.

The volume of implant you are considering would be a conservative enhancement.  Typically if patients are wanting a natural look the recommendation is to place the implant below the muscle.  There are a few reasons for this.  The muscle helps to disguise the upper portion of the implant where the edges then will not be seen or felt.  Under the muscle gives a more natural look and also carries a lower risk of capsular contracture. Patients who elect to have their implants placed beneath the muscle are able to routine to active lifestyles once they have healed and have been cleared by their surgeon.

Yes I do think 150-175 cc breast implants will create a subtle improvement in your breast shape and size.

My own belief is that subpectoral breast augmentation is the standard of care and plastic surgery today.  More importantly, he the ""no touch"" technique which includes placing the implant through and incision underneath the breast and beneath the chest muscle creates a more natural breast appearance in the long run.  More importantly the risk of capsular contracture, a breast implant complications, is much reduced using the "no touch" technique.
