I just got my stitches removed today after having an upper incisional asian blepharoplasty. When would it be safe for me to wear contacts and apply makeup over the incisions? And how long should I wait before I get my eyebrows waxed?
Answer: When can I wear makeup, contacts, or do eyebrows Plastic surgeons have varying opinions as to when it is appropriate to be able to apply makeup following Asian double crease surgery. In my practice, we weight approximately 6 to 7 days following surgery. Applying makeup is not usually the problem, often it is removing it at the end of the day. Incisions are not strong at this point in time and great care must be taken to avoid opening the incision. Contact lenses similarly must be placed very carefully to avoid tension on the incision. Of course, discuss this with your plastic surgeon to see what he or she recommends.

Answer: Resume wearing make-up, contacts and eyebrow waxing post- Asian bleph Thank you for your question. I routinely tell my patients that they can wear eyeliner and contacts at 1 week; and may start applying eyeshadow/concealer over the incision at 2 weeks after blepharoplasty if the post-operative course is uncomplicated and if the incision is well healed. As for eyebrow waxing, I think it's safe to have it done 2 weeks after surgery. Hope that helps.

Answer: Make up, contact, and eyebrow plucking after eyelid surgery Hi there,Definitely ask your surgeon what he or she recommends as he or she will have seen you in person and will have the most personalized advice. In general, it is okay after the sutures are out to wear make up and contacts. You can also pluck your eyebrows gently. Here are some tips: - To place your contacts, retract your lower eyelids more than your upper eyelids- Be careful with make up. It can sometimes irritate the skin and exacerbate swelling- I recommend using new eye shadows from a brand you have used in the past. This will assure the make up is as clean as possible.- Plucking your eyebrows is usually okay one week after surgery, but be gentle. Your skin will be a little more irritable. I recommend staying away from waxing. Hope this helps!

Answer: When can you wear make up and contact lenses after eyelid surgery Eyelid skin heals amazingly quickly. I tell my patients they can put in contacts and wear make up after 1 week. Here's the caveat, though. If you wear contact lenses, put them in by pulling on your lower eyelids, no pulling on your upper eyelids. There are suction cup plunger assists that you can use to put them in and take them out with minimal eyelid tugging. The issue with makeup after 1 week for me is cleanliness. This is a good time to buy new fresh make up. Do not use old make up that has been sitting on your bathroom counter for the past 6 months or more. It has inevitably collected bacteria already. Also, not a great time to try a new brand of make up in case you are allergic to it. You don't want to cause any unnecessary inflammation to the area. Best to stick with brands you know and buy a new set. Good luck!
