Ultherapy vs. Thermage for under eye skin laxity and wrinkles in dark skin patients.

Question

40yo with some under eye wrinkles. Heard this can be smoothed using Ultherarpy and also heard of Thermage. I have a dark skin so CO2 is out. What are the pros and cons for each and which one is more safe?

Hello and thanks for your question. The under eye area responds best to a combination of treatments including ThermiSmooth, Ultherapy, Lasers, Microneedling, and Botox/Fillers when needed. Sometimes a series of treatments would be needed to achieve optimal results. I would recommend an in-person consultation and evaluation with an experienced physician provider to determine which combination of treatments are most appropriate for you. Best wishes.

Ultherapy can treat the cheek below the tear trough groove but Thermage and ThermiSmooth can treat the skin above the tear trough close to the eyelid. The Ultherapy unit is too bulky to treat near the eye.
