Dear Olena, It will be irresponsible on the part of any surgeon to perform purely elective procedure (like butt implants) during your pregnancy. Even the slightest increase in risk of harming your baby, which can definitely occur during surgery( like anesthesia drugs, possible drop in blood pressure etc. ), is good enough reason to postpone the surgery until after the baby's delivery. There are 2 more issues to consider:1. After delivery, if you are planing to breast feed your baby, make sure to harvest your milk before your surgery for a period of 7-10 days, so the baby does not receive with the milk the post operative medication, that can have negative impact on the baby. You might also consider, only bottle milk feeding during that time. 2. I would recommend that you wait for your weight to stabilize (6-8 weeks) , so that you will select the correct implants size. It is very likely that you will lose weight after the delivery and will need a larger size implants. You have to realize that not all results are the same, because, there are different techniques and different implants. Additionally, experience, skills and aesthetic eye are critical for good outcome. So, do your due diligence carefully and choose your surgeon wisely, to avoid bad result and need for corrective surgery. Always, consult with experienced board certified plastic surgeons who operate in accredited surgery center for your safety. Most importantly, check the before and after pictures in the photo gallery, to make sure that they are numerous, consistent and attractive with nice 'S' curve, nice projection, round hips, single hidden scar and natural look. Also, check the reviews on 'RealSelf' for ratings and positive experience reports. Best of luck, Dr Widder
No surgery under general anesthesia should be performed during pregnancy unless it is essentially life saving and emergent. Buttock augmentation with implants is considered purely elective and cosmetic and therefore should be delayed until after pregnancy. Preferably it is best to wait a good 5 to 6 months until you have returned to your baseline weight and body morphism. Glad to be of help.
In general you should avoid surgery when pregnant. If surgery is required, the first and last trimester are the safest. Since butt implants are purely elective, you should wait for surgery; in addition, your body might change throughout your pregnancy, so be patient and wait till you are done with kids.
