What is this string hanging from my chin? 2 weeks post-op. (Photos)

Question

I'm 2 weeks postop of my chin implant & I was picking at my scab because it seemed lumpy, then this clear string came from underneath my skin & I don't know whether to cut it or leave it alone but it's noticeable & my doctors office is closed over the weekend. I have work tomorrow & would prefer not to walk around with a string attached lol

dear Patient : thanks for question and photo.  As my colleagues have adviced you, please do not pull or do anything to the incision and the possible stitch.  The only way to assess whats going on is an in person exam.  I would strongly advice you to go see your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon first thing Monday morning so he/she can take care of the problem.

Looks like a suture.  I would not advise anything but seeing your surgeon for examination.  I doubt any doctor on RealSelf will advise you otherwise.

Looks like a suture (running under the skin) is visible where it may have pulled through from one side which could explain why the loop is there and loose. You should see your surgeon and (s)he will likely remove the suture. Do not pull at it yourself or try to cut it as you may cause your wound to open further.
