Is a stitch coming out of nostril after rhinoplasty that was done 5 years ago normal?

Thank you for the question! It's rather difficult to fully evaluate your situation without an in-person exam. Many plastic surgeons use dissolvable sutures in rhinoplasty, but sometimes permanent sutures can be placed beneath the inner lining of the nose. When one such suture works its way through the nasal lining, you should contact your plastic surgeon to remove the stitch.  
An in-person exam with a board-certified plastic surgeon would be the best way to assess your needs and guarantee a reliable medical advice. Best of luck!

Thanks for your question.  Blue stitches are usually permanent stitches, and we usually use these permanent stitches to hold cartilages together for structural alterations to your nasal skeleton.  This seems especially true given that pulling on it makes the opposite side move.  I would leave this alone and see your rhinoplasty surgeon to address this.  Until then, please avoid manipulating this stitch.  Good luck!

The blue stitch is probably a permanent suture that has become exposed which will cause the irritation you're experiencing. Infection is unlikely but the suture can be removed and possibly replaced depending on its location. Consult with your surgeon or see an experienced rhinoplasty specialist.

That suture is a permanent suture and will not go away. Call your surgeon. The part protruding needs to be snipped at the base to prevent further problems. Call your surgeon.All the best,Talmage Raine MD
