Is it safe to use chin fillers/implants when wearing braces?

Without an exam your question cannot be answered.  You will need to see an Oral/Maxillofacial surgeon to see if othognathic surgery, genioplasty or using an implant is best for your specific case. It should be noted that patients with severely weak jaws or abnormally functioning jaws may be better treated with other facial surgery (orthognathic surgery), although a chin augmentation may be an option at a later time. Yes, you can have fillers in the chin if you have braces. It will take 1-2 weeks for final results with fillers. I’d suggest augmenting your chin with Sculptra and/or Voluma. If you like your new look, you can make it permanent with a chin implant. I hope that helps.

 Fillers do not work very well in chin location for a variety of reasons. When patients have a weak and recessive mandible and chin, placement of a solid silicone chin implant augments the mandible forward for better facial balance and proportions. Chin implants offer permanent augmentation to the chin, rather than fillers which are very temporary.  The size, the thickness, and the shape of the chin implants are usually best determined at the time of examination and consultation. Yes, it is safe to alter your chin contour with either fill or a chin implant. The implant is the best technique and significantly less expensive in the long run as the implant is permanent, the filler needs to be replaced every few months to a year. 

  Hi, I have performed many chin augmentations, over the past 30 years using dermal fillers or silastic chin implants.  Having braces should not be an issue with either fillers or placement of a silastic chin implant.  Non smiling photos of your face from the front and side would help in the evaluation.  When the chin is weak, this creates an imbalance making the nose appear larger, the mid face top heavy, the lower face looks short, de-emphasizes the lips and allows early formation of a "double chin".  
 Proper placement of a silastic chin implant adds forward projection to the chin thereby creating harmony and balance to the lower face.  Using the same incision, liposuction can be performed to reduce the fat and further shape the neck.  Excess skin, from below the chin, can also be removed through the same incision.  
 I have found that placement of a silastic chin implant, through a small curved incision under the chin (also allows excess skin removal) to be very safe, quick, highly effective and far less invasive than a sliding genioplasty (requires extensive tissue dissection, bone cuts and placement of metal screws and plates to secure the cut segments of bone).  I perform chin implant surgery in 30 minutes or less, often using a local anesthetic alone.Hope this helps.
