I got a chin augmentation in silicone through the mouth one week ago. Yesterday I got hit in the chin by my dog, he bumped into it with his head from below. Im so scared the implant has moved. I saw my doctor today but be could not see if it has moved because of the swelling. Is it possible the implant har shifted?
Answer: Chin implant surgery The risks of the implant shifting is very low. Do you know what type of fixation was used to secure the implant? Some surgeons use a long lasting suture. I secure chin implants with a small bone screw. It sounds like your surgeon is not overly concerned with any shifting. Continue to follow up with your surgeon. Good luck

CONTACT NOW Answer: Chin Implant Candidate Without an exam your question cannot be answered. You will need to see an Oral/Maxillofacial surgeon to see if othognathic surgery, genioplasty or using an implant is best for your specific case. It should be noted that patients with severely weak jaws or abnormally functioning jaws may be better treated with other facial surgery (orthognathic surgery), although a chin augmentation may be an option at a later time. These patients should seek the advice of a plastic surgeon to determine which course is right for them. Here is some information to help you make this decision: Candidates for Chin Augmentation - Patients whose chin profiles are weak but have normally functioning jaws are candidates for Chin Augmentation. Many of these candidates have used injectable fillers in the past to strengthen the protrusion of their chins, but are looking for a permanent solution. If you are one of these patients, then you are a likely candidate for chin augmentation #weakchin #chinimplant

Answer: Has chin implant shifted? It is possible that your recently placed chin implant has shifted after the hit you received to your chin by your dog, but I would say it is unlikely. You will just need to wait for any swelling to resolve to have a better idea of the implant's position.
