Can I get a revision septoplasty for a shortened nose? (photos)

In order to lengthen a short nose from previous surgery requires cartilage grafts. The first source is the nasal septum. If that has been used or removed by septoplasty, other options include cartilage from your ear, your rib or from a cadaver rib. It's important to discuss your goals with a revision rhinoplasty specialist to figure out how much augmentation you require, and therefore the source for the grafts. I find computer imaging an excellent way to share potential results and also determine how much needs to be done. 

Hi xxminkxx. Yes, there are surgical ways to lengthen the nasal tip and columella, but a rhinoplasty is needed to accomplish that. Grafts can be placed in your nasal tip to both lengthen your nasal tip and add volume to your columella. Typically these grafts are made of your own cartilage (either from the nasal septum, ear or rib). If you have already had a septoplasty, you likely do not have enough remaining septal cartilage. Either ear cartilage or rib cartilage may be used. I would suggest seeking the consultation of a rhinoplasty specialist.
