I had a septoplasty and my septum still feels just as crooked as before?

I had a septoplasty/rhinoplasty about a month ago and I can feel it's very curved and my left nostril is almost completely blocked off. I understand swelling lasts for a long time, but I don't see how swelling could be causing my septum to be the same shape it was before the surgery. Also, cosmetically my nose looks very disproportional, my bridge seems to be wider than my tip now. The bridge feels very bone-y and hard, so I don't see how swelling could make this better..

Without photos, it is difficult to answer this question; however, at a month out, you still have a long way to go in your recovery.  You should discuss these concerns with your surgeon.  Best of luck.

At one month, you are just starting to have some of the swelling improve. The issue after septoplasties are that it causes the lining of the nose to swell and may look more swollen than before surgery. That being said, if the front of your septum is very crooked still, it may or may not totally improve. The front of the septum is the hardest to get straight and usually requires more difficult maneuvers. I would address your concerns with your surgeon and hopefully they can explain everything to you. I would need to perform an examination of your nose to be any more specific. Best of luck.
