I had a subperiosteal midface lift about 8 months ago. I'm asian and it has completely distorted my eyes and other features. I think that it was pulled up too high. Can this procedure be reversed and if so, who do you recommend as an expert in doing a reversal?

Answer: Correction of a sub periosteal midface lift. This approach to facial rejuvenation is fraught with many potential problems. The only way to fix these problems is to totally disassemble the facelift in reestablish the proper relationships. This should be done by someone who is very familiar with the procedure. I would also encourage you to get a second opinion before proceeding.

Answer: Revision for botched mid facelift results Without pictures and personal exam it is hard to tell the underlying cause/s of your problem, which will determine the type of revisions you will need. While improvements can be done, sometimes it would be limited since another aggressive approach could aggravate the distorted appearance and lead to more scarring. If too much skin has been removed or the appearance is overly tight, sometimes the best course of action is to wait for the skin to relax, which could take a couple of years. Make sure that you choose a facial plastic surgeon (board-certified, of course) who regularly performs revision facelifts or corrective surgeries for botched results. You can assess his level of skills by looking at his before-and-after photos. I hope that helps and good luck.
