Is Q-switch laser safe on olive/brown skin?

Q-switch lasers tend to be safer for olive/brown skin or people who tan easily. They have a lower risk of hypo or hyperpigmentation than more popular hyperpigmenation treatments such as IPL. For patients who are concerned, I always perform a test spot 2 weeks prior to the full treatment to determine if the patient will react poorly to the laser. 

Q-switch lasers are laser of choice when it comes to removing dark pigment.   The stain you have can be removed safely.   The risk of hypo-pigmentation is very low if done properly with these type of lasers.  I have the Lutronic Spectra laser and it's safe for dark skin patients as well. 
Stay away from C02 lasers as they have the highest risk of hypo-pigmentations.
