Will a palate expander work for an adult with an open bite?

I'm 24 years old and i have an open bite due to tongue thrust. Instead of extracting teeth i will use a palate expander and maybe a tongue crib. will this work since i'm an adult? Any advice would be much appreciate it. Please.thank you.

Looks like you have protrusion of the upper and lower jaws and proclined upper and lower front teeth that cause the strain of your lips. Usually braces can help. Some extractions may be needed to reduce proclination. See a good and experienced orthodontist for advise.
